Thesis:
Internet as a weapon of mass Jihad!
How it has been used increasingly by many radical fighters in Middle
East (especially Syria).
Internet is used by radicals and insurgents there to: recruit new members,
share experiences (mainly the military ones) , as a social network to keep ties
or to give orders, share latest announcements and the "fatwas" issued
by spiritual leaders/ references of Islamist movements or orders and instruction
by field commanders.
Internet became recently a platform for divisions and deepened frictions
inside the radical movement itself. Internet and specifically the social
networks made Jihad more global, as many western individuals find their way to Syria
through the internet.
Main tasks / internet and social media networks
are used by Jihadists also to do:
Advise on military and technical issues (Examples)
Show shariah's opinions or judgements on some issues
related to Jihad (Examples)
Ask me about (Examples)
Reconciliation and declaring Truce (Examples)
Calm conflicts or deepen the differences (Examples)
